GlobalAM at MSE 2026 – 2nd Workshop

01/10/2026

On October 1, 2026, partners of the GlobalAM consortium organized the 2nd Workshop, where they presented their latest research results at the Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) Congress 2026 in Darmstadt, Germany.

The presentations provided valuable insights into recent developments in hybrid laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), focusing on integrated cooling solutions for power electronics, process optimization, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Throughout the conference, GlobalAM partners from Robert Bosch GmbH, Politecnico di Milano, DTU and EurA AG shared their findings on high-performance cooling structures, simulation-based crack mitigation, acoustic process monitoring, and sustainability assessments, including Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and copper powder regeneration. Further research on residual stress characterization was also presented.

The results highlighted important progress towards improving manufacturing reliability, thermal performance, and resource efficiency, supporting the project's goal of advancing hybrid additive manufacturing for industrial applications.

A big thank you to all participating partners for sharing their research and contributing to the scientific exchange at MSE 2026!
